great macro- I'd have never guessed without the title. excellent capture of the texture of the matchheads and good abstract interpretation of the assignment.

very nice composition. I like your foxus being on the hook. the reel blurred in the background adds nicely to the balance of the image and provides good context. I wish your tones we a little better though, with the whites being brighter, but I'd still give it an 8. well done.

cool portrait of Pete. He has a very expressive face. I like the B+W treatment. I think though, that you could have cropped it in a more interesting way, removing a little more from his back and shoulders. I like the background space in front of him and that would be accentuated more if he was more off center. great job! 9
