Sunburst a la Post-Its by essayComment: Really innovative and beautifully shot. It almost looks computer generated (raytraced) because the lighting is so tightly controlled but I love the elegant shadowing, especially in the lesser lit 'blade' which provides sufficient diversity in the piece without detracting. Brilliant stuff. |

Yellow Gas Tankby nicholasdionComment: Lovely shot. I really like 'real world' shots like this...especially yours that shows gritty reality but turns it into a thing of beauty. Great contrast between the canister and the blackened wall and lovely textures. Might benefit from being just a touch sharper. |

Yellow Cocktailby madrushComment: Too much of the glass is lost to the background unfortunately... nice idea but I think seeing the glass and it's lovely curves would have helped a lot. |

Yellow Trollby boss351Comment: LOL - so that's the little sod that has been giving me such a hard time with the voting... |

Big Bowl Noodlesby muur88Comment: Yellows are pushed too far imho...I like the composition and I get the hard yellow but it's just a tad too far, blowing out highlights. |

The famous refractionby booboo_goonComment: I really want to not like this but I really love it! The lines and the refraction suck me in from both symmetries. Nice take on what I think is sometimes a cliche shot. |

Room With A Viewby treyvusComment: I stayed in that very room and my view was very very different - I'm complaining immediately. I think you could have pushed the colours a little more on this - I like the natural framing and the obviously attractive lines of the subject (tactfully put eh?!) but I think the yellow of her bikini could be used to make it/her stand out against greens of the trees behind (oops..this is basic editing...ah well). |

Nighthawkby h2Comment: Absolutely brilliant on every level. Finding it hard to give you constructive criticism when it's all positive! Firstly it's original and that always gets extra points from me. Secondly it meets the challenge so perfectly, the yellow against the grey tones everywhere else. Thirdly the technical execution is brilliant with all the depth of field and focus. The lighting from within being the only obvious in-frame lighting is outstanding. I'm only 28% through the images but I really want this to ribbon. Well done! |
