CRW_2825-01by NusbaumComment: Very pre-Raphaelite. I wish the background was more blurred... otherwise a great shot. |

La Femmeby ScantyNebulaComment: Good high-key shot. I would have tried to use glasses which were less powerful... glasses which cure short-sightedness have the unfortunate effect of making the wearer's eyes appear smaller and I think the most important element of most portraits are the eyes which is where most viewers will focus first. The strategic placement of the braids is a nice touch and works well here. It can look corny, but not here. Unusual composition which works well, but I'm not fond of your border effect. Just the fact that the top of her head is missing is enough to make her 'pop' out at you. |

"But.......nude?"by parrotheadComment: Great cheeky shot, which draws the viewer in by curiosity. What is not shown here is more important that what we are allowed to see. Shame about the blown highlights on the shirt. |

Naked Lunchby soupComment: Clearly does not meet the challenge, and is not an appetising shot of food. |

Bed Headby ElemmennopeComment: Wonderful shot with a great mood. Your model has a great figure, and looks comfortable in front of the camera. Great exploration of light and shadow, I love how the light plays with the crumpled sheets. |

Lukeby biggood53Comment: Looks a bit too much like a snapshot for my taste, and onboard flash is usually not a great source of light. You could have removed the red eyes caused by the flash in PS. The background isn't too great... try to prevent objects such as trees growing from your subjects! |

Ashamedby KonadorComment: Nice shot, good use of light and shadow. I'm not sure about your composition... I think I would have used more negative space to communicate your subject's sense of isolation. I'd have liked a bit more sharpness. |

Meby ScreechingtonComment: I'm assuming this is a self-portrait, so well done for giving it a go. However, I think the end result here is a bit too snapshot for my taste. The inclusion of all of the headboard and a good amount of the bed gives a bit too much of a 'mundane' feel, and the composition of the bed in the shot feels a bit unimaginative. You exploit the top-left to bottom-right diagonal well, and with a stronger background and better lighting, this would have been a good part of the composition. The light looks like daylight through a single window, and I don't think that works too well here. I would have tried this shot with some lamps at night with some long exposures to play with the resulting shadows. |

handsby rhipsterComment: Interesting shot, good use of light. The shot has too much of an orange tint for my eyes. The composition doesn't quite work for me... cropped very close on the left, but loose on the right. I'm assuming the stretched arm pose is for a study in light and shadow on the musculature, but here the light has missed most of the muscles, and instead shows the fat on the back in a slightly unflattering way.
I hope this hasn't been too critical, but I feel this could have been a great photo with these points addressed. |
