Lines are everywhereby whiterookComment: Whiterook indeed! Well, I recognized the inimitable Whiterook style (including deeply philosophic title) and I should have guessed during the challenge. Congratulations on squeezing out another brown. And you did it with a photo that meets the challenge, well, that's the most impressive part to me. Nice job. |

Venture a Guess?by XMountaineerComment: Sure, I'll guess it's one of those toys that has a zillion pins for you to press on one side with your hand or face (or something) and it creates the image with raised pins on the other side. Just my wild guess. :D |

Pokerby dsternerComment: Ha ha! That's a fun point of view. I'm going to guess that your score is getting forked up a bit from the noise in the background. If it's intentional then great (brave creative choice). Otherwise, if you want some unsolicited Photoshop advice for fixing noise in advanced editing then I've posted an explaination & quickly retouched version of your shot in my workshop HERE.
(the retouched version will not be public until after the challenge and I'll be glad to remove it before then if you'd rather I not leave it up) |

Showing your ageby ConnorComment: I wonder how many people at DPC might be too young to recognize a typewriter when they see it. Great detail on the near piece. A fair amount of noise in the background, but I'm guessing that's from cropping in a fair amount.
A good way to mitigate that noise without losing detail (in advanced editing) is to duplicate the image into a new layer, use the 'reduce noise' filter so the background looks smooth, then just use the eraser on the noise reduced layer to let areas of detail come through clearly (experiment with opacity for best results- 100% for main focal plane objects and then down from there). Hope you don't mind the unsolicited advice, and for the record, I am not an expert. Good luck. |
