Isisby robaComment: I am assuming that the cross in the eye reflection is an addition to the orignial shot - if not, I'm very impressed. Without knowing otherwise, I have to vote a 7. |

The Eyeby pramodvhComment: If not for the reflections in the eye, this would have been a perfect macro shot. Very hard to accomplish a perfect eye shot without some kind of reflection. There is a form of sensitvity here that attracted me to this image. |

The Things We've Seenby MAKComment: I'm not sure about the title of this image...maybe it's a personal thing. The image however is superb, and I vote an 8. Cheers, Sandra. |

Ball and Jacksby LadyKComment: This a wonderful idea for the challenge and a well executed submission. I think it deserved a little higher than 5.4 as an overall score. The composition, colour, clarity and DOF are perfect. One commenter stated that the reflection was a distraction rather than an addition to the image...they are not appreciating that the reflection is the 1/3rd of the image that gives it a rule of thirds composition - an oversight maybe, or just being picky?...who knows? |

Beautifully Detailedby Dr.ConfuserComment: I like this one a lot. May have been a bit better (for me) if the angle was on an exact 45 degree. Light and colour are excellent. 9 |

Columnsby pasaroComment: I like this subject; strong structure against a soft sky & the light and shadow amplifies the columns architecture, but I was left wishing there were a third column on the left side of the shot. Maybe a portrait layout would change that. Also, a single column shot smack dab in the middle of this blue sky would be clean, simple & effective as well...then you would have a giant single concrete DNA strand. You could easily have two great shots here if you split the two colums and made two portrait shots - the right column dead centre, and the left column cropped to show a wide blue void on the far right. I'm no expert, but this is what I see as possiblities. One more thing, a longer exposure would have made the clouds more whispy looking reinforcing the strong/soft appeal. |
