The Wallby blemtComment: Don't know if you played with the idea of using the wall to create the other half of the Washington Monument instead of using it to make a second one. I do like the current version, however. I also like how you kept the names blurred to keep them anonymous but we can still see them as names. 5 |

Washington Monument Sunriseby ClubJuggleComment: I really like this entry a lot. Lighting, composition, focus, cropping...all perfect. What's wrong with it? Color balance seems a bit biased towards blue. The trees do not appear black (what I would expect considering the time this was taken) but have a blue and red tint. 6 |

Barnstormerby dsa157Comment: Excellent subject matter for the free study. I love how the smoke trains the eye to follow towards the plane. Negative space is perfect and so is the cropping. Smart choice going with b/w, as well. 10 |

On the Runby JackoComment: HAHA! Great designs on the back of the ladybug! Maybe try flames and a car # or even add some sponsors. Very original! Next time put more negative space in the front vs center the insect. 7 |

A new day and few rays of hopeby superdave_909Comment: This is a very softly lit subject and I wish the middle tree had more substance to it; a little darker. That way it would better match the contrast of the foreground which is very dark. I really like the volumetric lighting and the way the light pokes through the tree. Very good effort. 8 |

All Doneby silverleafComment: I studied this for a long time trying to think of different ways this could have been accomplished. I think your way is probably one of the better ways and how I might have done it as well. I imagined that the child's mother or father just called saying it's time to go. The child collected the chalk, got up and started to walk away. Very well done and well executed. The icing on the cake, to me at least, is the motion blur. This is one of those very simple yet very effective photos. 10 |

Extraordinary Beeby CantiqueComment: What kind of bee is this? Nice macro shot and good job cropping. Details are a little blurry on the bee itself. Maybe the camera's AF was focusing on the flower to its immediate left or maybe it's just compression playing tricks with my eyes. |

What goes up...by graphicfunkComment: I know what you were trying to achieve but I can still see the black background. Might have been better without the flash and if you used a tripod instead or fiddle with curves/levels to completely blackout the background for the desired effect. |
