Hi greetings from the CC, I think this is a unique shot, the deep blue tones to black make for a dramatic feel. I think the lighting is very good in this shot, I particularly like the 'line of light' along the rim of the glass. My greatest criticsm would be its central compostion, it may make the shot a little more interesting had it been shifted a bit to the right. It is great that you did not lose any of the detail with a darker image on the handle. Overall I think this is an inviting shot, for the challenge with a creative interpretation, well done and happy shooting! P.S not sure about the blue border, I am not a big border fan, and not sure if this one adds or detracts from image...just a few thoughts....

Hi greetings from the CC, I liked that you were willing to show some real and painful emotion in your shot. My criticism is only that we did not get to see the rest of your face to help give us more of a context, I suspect many folks missed your emotion here. Technically speaking as is, it is a good detail of an eye, clear, sharp. You may want to consider PSing out the reflection in pupil and bits of eyebrow.
I am sorry for your loss, and hope you are feeling better than when you took this.
Keep up showing those emotions in your work!

Hi greetings from the CC. IMP this image does not display too much conflict, tho I am not such a topic stickler. I think one of the biggest challenges in photography is choosing a subject, I think it is important IMO that the topic has some universal appeal, and a topic like 'conflict' is emotional in nature, I think this shot is emotionally flat.
As far as strictly technical, the DOF is done well, I would like to see some more color in the shot to add some drama, perhaps with a darker bckgrnd and some softer lighting? Or food dye in the water?
Being a studio type shot I would of also given a little more room on the top and bottom so subjects not so close to edges.
Hope this was not too harsh a comment, and that it is food for thought, keep shooting!

Hi greetings from the CC, I find this subject while fitting the topic of limited appeal, while on dpc fitting the topic is key to a lot of participants, yet I think finding images that are engaging outside the challenge is important as well. IMO producing shots that show emotion or have an ability to wow the viewer are the goals of our craft. I would encourage you to find subjects that (perhaps fit the challenge) that are also engaging and have a universal vs. limited appeal. Just my thoughts, hope it helps. Technically, the shot is sharp, the lighting is ok but looks a bit shadowed?. Happy shooting!

Greetings from the CC, this shot has a bit of an alex colville feel to it, the light on the wall is certainly the highlight IMO. I feel like the compositon could be a little stronger, perhaps cropping the right more to place the bold line over to the right a bit more. As it stands it is a bit to central IMO. My other thought would be to reduce the 'strength' of the bold line it is a somewhat overpowering focus, which may be your intention, however, i would like to bath in that light in the background a little more, I think you would like alex colvilles work may give you some ideas...
good eye, keep shooting : )

Greetings from the CC, well congrats on being one of the few people in the challenge who displayed conflict. (not that i am stickler on topicality). The expression on the 'slugged' face is fabulous, I think you did very well at capturing the feeling of being hit, the half opened eyes, stunned feel...I am suprised this shot did not do much better. the black and white and the lighting are also very well done, clear sharp with nice tones. I like the compostion and the fact that the hand seems to come out of no where, adding to the feeling/expression of the guy being hit.
Very good job, well done and keep shooting : )

Greetings from the CC, this is a well represented subject, it is ordinary tho it is well suited both to challenge and your use of sepia tones. My biggest criticism is the bottom of the shot is overexposed and may have done well to crop it out. I think the angle at which you took the shot made for an interesting composition. I would like to see the front of the 'back' barn, exposing what is behind the run down broken 'windows'. This shot strikes my as a historical one, that would do well to document a community or a time in history. I think it would work well perhaps in a series of similar shots. Hope that helps a bit, well done and happy shooting!

HI greetings from the CC, the long exposure aspect of this shot turned out well. I think however that your scored suffered cuz the 'focus' (meaning subject) is incidental to your shot, it is obscured almost to the point of not noticing it. I think many may have felt it did not meet the challenge. I think especially on dpc if you want to do well, coming up with shots that are clear and sharp and simple this shot is more of an abstract. Additionally trying to find subjects that while unique and interesting, that have wide appeal may help.
So in conclusion I think if you can come up with a sharp image with a subject of interest to a wide audience I think your score would improve...if you are wanting to produce and abstract shot aware that it is not going to be widely recieved I think that is fine too : ).
