Greetings from the Critique Club,
Despite thinking this challenge was not one of DPC"s finest moments in terms of topics, you did a wonderful job creating an appealing and dare I even say emotional shot. The cap looks sad and lost, the poor owner has lost his lens. The tones of the image are pleasant and mood enhancing. The composition works very well, and I really like the water droplets on the lens itself, I would not have known this was a waterfall if you had not said so, but the inclusion of the drops adds a 'time' element. I also really like the textures in this shot.

I honestly could not tell you what you could do to improve this image, very nicely done.
happy shooting.

Greetings from the CC
What I really like is this lil guys expression! He looks (no offense) a little blank.
I think you did a good job on it I think the high key suits the topic and enhances the blank stateness you are trying to convey. I generally do not like central compositions either, but I think that it does work in this photo. To just have a lot of white background would not added anything.

I think some folks may have considered this a more conventional portrait vs. environmental portrait, which is why I suspect you did not do a litttle better than did. Overall a nice shot, I think the parents would like it : )

Hi Greetings from the Critique Club
What I like is the clouds, and the detail in the cross, I know you are aiming for a silo. shot but I find the bottom half very heavy and black. I think I may have liked this shot better if you were able to just get the cross closer up. Or cropped a significant amount of the black on bottom off. If you are going to do a central crop, it would also be good to really center it, the left bottom corner you still see sky, the right bottom you do not, would be good IMO if were equal. I think that would of improved your compostion a lot. I also wonder if you could of used the burn tool a little to make the sun slightly less bright.

I do like the idea though of the light coming thru the cross, a good use of symbolism.
Just some thoughts hope they hel, look forward to seeing more images from that part of the world.

Just curious are people there generally keen to have their photo taken?

HI Greetings from the Critique Club.
What I like is the choice of subject, great place, so much texture and detail, also what i like is the odd 'silo' type thing on the far left, what an odd and interesting contrast in architecture styles!!

I think you shot would of hugely benefitted from rotating it to the right, or holding the camera straight when you actually took the shot. As is the building is crooked, which is a little unsettling. After the rotating I would of cropped a wee bit from the right. The other aspect that may have added something to this shot would of been someone going up the stairs perhaps? Someone kneeling? Other wise nicely done IMO.
Just some thoughts hope they help.

Hi greetings from the Critique Club.

Interesting choice here, not a typique 'holy reverent' sort of feel, more dark and mysterious, like maybe the local anarchist or KKK, come here after hours. In that sense not sure how much it 'fits' challenge.
But I do think it is emotive shot, I think the tones are good and the lighting is nice, I like the prescence of the moon and in my opinion it probably makes the shot, that along with the missing boards on the church.
I see a couple tiny white flecks in the sky, not sure if it is e or the shot, I think they should get cloned out.

Good creative take on subject.
Nicely done
