Taking Flightby jbsmithanaComment: coming back to comment:
Getting an eagle in flight is a goal of wildlife photographers - getting one with it's claws extended and a clear view of the eye makes it even sweeter - great job. |

squirrelby JulieGComment: Now that's a well fed squirrel! I really like the sdof, your eyes are brought right to the squirrels head and your crisp focus makes it just pop - love the catch light in the eyes, gives it such personality.. looks like it should be an illustration in a children's book - an excellent photo, suits the challenge perfectly - bumping the score right up! |

I like the painterly effect of your photo.. and think that gulls are under appreciated as they are truly beautiful birds and so graceful in flight.. I like the grain in this shot and the soft muted tone.. it looks like you bumped the colors up a fair bit and that worked well with the blue and the yellow..but not as well with the red - the red in the bird's feet, it's beak and whatever it is holding in it's mouth look a bit off, maybe taking the red down a bit in your pp would have been a better choice, keeping true to the painterly effects the rest of your photo has. |

It's lunch time!by halopesComment: coming back to comment:
What makes this an outstanding photo is the b/g color matches the color in the bird and has a very Autumn feeling to it. Nice catch light in the birds eye.. might have bumped it a bit more and dodged the color in it's eye, but that is a personal choice.. I like the reflection on the birds beak - nicely photographed. |

I love the suggested shapes of the body parts... the expression of the girl's expression.. I hope you do well in this challenge - one of my top picks but then I love abstracts. I would love to hang this on my wall. |

Keeping Them In - Or Keeping Them Out? ...The Picket Fenceby dsternerComment: A nice take on the challenge.. I like the angle you shot this from.. I always enjoy lines in photos.. While I like the starkness of the pure whites and blacks, I think some grays would add more texture in the blacked out areas and give more detail in the hardware on the fence.. giving this photo a broader tonal range. However, that is a personal decision and up to you as the photographer. |
