Fire Belowby banmornComment: Intriguing, and beautifully photographed. Very strong sense of composition, those lines giving a strong flow through the frame. |

Iowa State Capitolby moonwellComment: I'd guess its HDR, but to my eye it simply looks like something's gone badly wrong with the processing of this image. It seems more like an illustration than a photograph. |

Flash Frozen in Timeby robsComment: The dynamic nature of the effect of strobe flash is always interesting; unfortunately, I don't find much else here to hold my interest. Inevitably the light is odd, but the composition, the colour and other extraneous elements don't hang together. |

Dee - Dec. 2006by MWittComment: Has a near 1950's feel, apart obviously from the colour: simply depth of field, I suppose. Just a portrait, though, to my eye. |

Red Rosesby SteveJComment: Whether it's your processing, or your camera, there's a lack of real detail in these flowers. The white background seems well done, but for such a simple composition I think you need the absolute clarity of high resolution detail to make an impact. |

All is Calmby KarenNfldComment: Nice shooting. The composition feels a little uneven to me - that lines formed by the houses is placed a bit uncomfortably high in frame: I can see your desire to maintain the reflections in shot, but I think including a bit more of the hillside - if there is more - would have balanced the frame better, and would also have made more of the incongruity of those houses nestling against the rocks. The line also leads to that house top left, which is placed rather too high in frame - and too far left perhaps - to keep the eye in frame as one scans the picture. |

Dawn on the Mackinac Bridgeby shamerComment: Strong dynamic composition - and very DPC at the moment. There's interest in most areas of frame, and the leading lines function well. In the end, for me, its pretty rather than very interesting. |

Christmas Futureby raishComment: Has a feeling of being over-smoothed, and for me, isn't an interesting enough composition to really strike home. I like the b/w, but in a composition that devotes everything to eyes, there isn't enough here to really get me. |
