Curvesby dahkotaComment: Strong colour - the benefits of underexposure, as so many don't understand. I find the composition a little awkward - those curves just aren't similar enough, perhaps, for a really easy-on-the-eye balance. Great stuff, though. |

waiting..by bnileshComment: I like the near-metallic feel of the water, and the there's anough sea to make the calmness the more extraordinary. |

Street Lifeby whiteroomComment: I find it quite hard to keep my attention where one would think it should be: there's a leading lines element that draws the eye to the two boys, and the colours they're wearing stand out from their background more than the group of four girls are the obvious subject. Also, I think that's because the boys are actually doing something - and that is intriguing, suggests a narrative, a story, whereas the girls are simply standing still for the camera - or appear to be. |

Enterby JPRComment: Neat work; the crossover between the sepia-ish tone and the metallic tone in this mist is intriguing, especially as that is the point in the progression of the image were the figure is placed. |

Man & Best Friendby DianaComment: Fine composition, and a real capture of that feeling of the light herting your eyes reflecting off the water. |

The Streamby Pug-HComment: I've simply passed over most of the landscapes in this challenge, but the strength of composition, and genuine communication of a place's mood here makes this one worth more attention. |

House Atreidesby RompyComment: Seems almost to be trying to be simple and complex at the same time: and I'm not sure that's a successful dichotomy. The simplicity of the tonality of it, against the complex shapes and shadows - the tension between what are broadly plain and geometric shapes, and the details of the aerial, the steels and their rivets, the wiring ... |

Raggedby drz01Comment: Contrary to most butterfly/moth/winged animal macros in this challenge, this has actually achieved a sense of fragility rather than the abstraction of shape and colour. The background will of course cause many voters problems, but I think it parallels the lines and shapes of the insect's wings quite well. |

Eagle Owlby mortyComment: Whilst there's always a fun aspect to selective de-sat, I have to say I dislike almost all uses of the technique: it makes your image more about your processing than your photography. The sheer weirdness of the stand-out eyes in a black and white image immediately distracts from consideration of your capture of the subject. |
