I expect you've been told that this is very dark - don't listen to them! great contrast, and one of the few b&w shots that doesn't look like a deperate attempt to be arty. One small criticism: the brightness of that white building just across the bridge, and the fact that it's placed on the strong vertical makes that the real subject of the picture: my eye is always drawn from the bridge or the church to it.

This is so much better than it looks as a thumbnail - not sure how much affect that has. I'm willing to bet that you've had a bunch of 'too dark' comments though :-) Giving you a 9 rather than a ten because I only allow myself one 10 a week and this isn't quite my favourite ... v close though ... can almost here the stillness of the river. great work

Well taken - so many people have gone for a symmetrical composition with this kind of shot, and this is so much more interesting. Also one of thhe few b&w shots that really looks like it benfits from the monochrome. Like the contrast of the horizontal and vertical iron-work too. A really top photo, great work.

Kind of creepy the way the support wires disappear behind the headland, and that they seem more out of focus than the main support. Good shot though, really enjoyable.

Good shooting - I wonder if you've lost a little too much foreground detail in order to keep the distant? I would love to have seen more texture in the edge of the bridge ...
