Tree Branchby wee_agComment: Quite indistinct. No real sense of directness of light, and therefore of texture - what appears to be your subject is relegated to the lower mid-tones, and a lot of detail is therefore lost. |

Peacockby holyjoComment: Good on the colours, though not everso appealling, rather metallic. detail is very difficult to percieve her, has the sense of being out of focus, though with that extreme contrast it's tricky to be sure. |

Tulipsby bjallenComment: Very harsh lighting, and little chance for the texture of the subjects to shine through. Good detail and colour however. |

Shreaded Wheatby GolferDDSComment: Very good texture, very assured photography too. Kind of overly contrived perhaps, and despite the great technical work, just a touch, well, dull, really? |

Rust and dustby mijakComment: Excellent detailing and texture on the nut and bolt: a wonderful feel. Compositionally weak however, don't find any visual order in this presentation of shapes, and the left hand of the image seems unused, and not to add anything. |

Bumpy yet Smoothby NeuferlandComment: Certainly textural, as well as mural. However that's about allthere is to this; nothing that really grabs my interst , indeed its perhaps the most minimal photo I've seen here. even to have had more of the wall going into the distance might give more for the eye to dwell on. |

Bath timeby ClayaComment: Very general light here - indeed, like bathroom light. Doesn't really allow a great deal of texture to come through, and I'm not convinved by your cropping part of the bar of soap out. I get no particular sense of the feel of the soap, either of solidity or slipperiness, and only a small amount from the towelling. |

Silk Sunflowerby carriesingletaryComment: Not much sense of the feel of this thing - other than the fraying about the edges of those leaves. Depth of field is simply not great enough, to actually show any detail in most areas, and you seem to have cropped out the area of foreground leaves where the light might show the most texture. |

An Old Basketby MarjoComment: Fine detail and sense of light are exemplary. , and the texture of the strap and clasp very good too. Good light and shade. doesn't particularly excite as a subject, but it's certainly well photographed. |

Soft as a featherby willemComment: Very good on those tail feathers - perhaps less so on the head of the swan, which is inevitably the main attention grabber here. The focus and detail there seem so much more forced than on that tail, where the gentleness and sheer featheriness have really come through. A touch of halo-ing from too much sharpening around the neck and some of the shadow lines, but pretty good overall. |
