Sunriseby AmyComment: a number of problems with this image: those twigs sticking into the frame; the near-dark foreground takes up so much of the image, yet doesn't have the detail to produce much interest; the brightest part of the sky is badly over-exposed, and there's not much detail either in the remaining sky. |

A Bad Day's Tomorrow Nightby nidanComment: Kinds nice, this: I wonder if you're compositional decisions haven't become a bit blurred - was this about the sky, the reflection, or the symmetrical pattern of those trees and their reflections? I think there might be more impact if you had perhaps cropped the whole thing, to really emphasise that symmetry of trees, and the vanishing point - but then I am a fan of the graphic in photographs. |

Natural Wondersby mcrochipComment: For me this entire shot is over-exposed - there is so little that is finctioning ona brightness level below 'quite intense' - and it's so difficult to find texture and interesting depth of tonality in this light. To be fair, you've shot in a quite harsh light, and it's not easy to find a graceful sense of texture and shade in that. The solution is probably simply to shoot at a different time of day :-( |

White Peonyby CantiqueComment: The order in which photographs appear is random, so it's pure misfortune that I'm so very very very bored of flower shots now. |

princess buttercupby ursulaComment: Assured, effective, quite interesting graphically, slightly different. It's certainly a clever shot - but beautiful? I'm uncertain of such isolation and style imposed on things ... |

Sleeping Beautyby DrakeComment: In this apparent glut of flower shots, this is a little better - there should, surely, be something beyind the simply pretty to qualify for 'beauty', and this certainly makes statements about the progression, about the force, the puposefulness of the spring processes. These little earthquakes happen all around us, all the time, and it's one of the points of photography to concentrate on such things. very fine work. |

Complementsby banmornComment: The light is interesting, certainly, and effectively and cleverly done. Technically a fine photograph, but for me lacking any greater interest than the simply technical. |

Beauty is,: a Cavalier King Charles called Rubyby kiwinickComment: A fine pet portrait, certainly; although I suspect some would find the close-cropping outside their limits of acceptibility :-(
The execution is more or less impeccable - the even light, the focus, detail, la la la. I'm afraid it doesn't excite, though - not for this viewer. |

"Daisy on White"by sfarrell23Comment: Whilst you are certainly at liberty to find beauty in a flower, I am also at liberty to find it simply pretty, and also to make that distinction quite strongly. That said, this is well photographed, and holds interest in its way. |

woodenby messerschmittComment: Lovely tonality, composition - such near abstract graphic qualities in a photograph are, O know, deceptively simple to look at and hard to find in reality - you do well here. Strong sense of detail and texture, but the white areas of image left confuse things for me - half looking light over-exposed reflections of something, or perhaps a fungal thing, or paint, and that indecision drags at the mind, I find. But I like the sense of chaos, and more particularly I'm delighted to find someone who doesn't just see beauty in the bland and straight-forward. |
