High Waterby cryanComment: That's a lot of water on the move! I like that you got the little misty rainbow in the center fall. |

the littlest witchby JutildaComment: This is beautiful! It's great that we can all have cameras that do this nice of a job around all the time now. The even light suits her nicely. |

Cajun Sunsetby eyeartComment: I also noticed the sharpening. This may be from a setting in your camera menu. If you have your camera set to max sharpening, you can't undo it in processing, but you can always shoot mild and sharpen in processing.
I like the way that the reflection is showing the tree on the island while the dark background hides the actual tree. |

Storm over Florence by LevTComment: This shot deserves the ribbon!
Thanks for the tip about quicker shooting. I have noticed that in many of the storms in this area, that the bolts come at fairly regular intervals. For instance, if I count seconds between 1st and 2nd strikes, I have found that the 3rd strike will occur roughly at the same interval. I then adjust shooting to match that. If the strikes are coming at 15 sec intervals, I wait 12 sec or so after a strike to open the shutter. Sometimes you miss a bolt that comes in the interim, and have to restart the countdown, but the technique helps on the average. |

"Poor devil had his tongue cut out, so he trained the parrot to talk for him"by TammsterComment: Hi Tammster! You needed a small sword or dagger for him to check out while you were shooting this, to connect it to the challenge a little better.
Nice looking bird, and that's a good pose. The wrinkles in his face make it look like this was processed a little "hard", but they do look that way from some angles ,esp with flash.
My Jules says "Howdy, bird!"

P1000594copyby spiritualspatulaComment: Nice perspective shot. Somehow I seem to be waiting for the scarecrow from the "Wizard of Oz" to pop out of the corner. : )
No need to "crop" this one, it's already a crop. Ok, it was a corny joke. Message edited by author 2010-09-29 00:16:37. |

P1000600by spiritualspatulaComment: That's a grand looking cloud. I like the way the light falls off from R to L in this. The lighting poles seem to be set in a curve, maybe an off ramp or something like that. They add a good element to connect the ground to the sky in this. The "birds" are ok with me, because I keep a few in my camera too. |

bite meby daisydavidComment: The eye contact is the strong point in this shot. Nicely done, and B&W helps keep it simple. |

Prowlby cginoComment: This is a fine panning shot. The overall motion blur makes Mr.Tiggs' head and eyes grab your attention. B&W keeps the distraction that color would cause under control too. He looks like a content kitty. |
