The evening the bike took a breakby illoosi0nComment: Whoa! Bummer that you didn't keep the orij file handy.
There is only one thing that I see that I would have changed in this photo, and that would be to remove the lock cable if it was your bike. That would complete the "this could be long ago" look.
Clyde Butcher, one of the premier landscape photographers of our time has a gallery in Venice, not far from where you live. My sister in law works for him there. |

night falls at catchum lake.jpgby ChimericImagerComment: If you could rub out the rest of the power line on the right, and the pole to the left of the dodged tree in the center, this would be one of those timeless looking images, where you cannot tell if it's captured yesterday or 100 years ago. Beautiful scene just as it is, and well done in timing, exposure, and PP. |

Pet Cockatooby diablo2097Comment: I see that it took a lot of steps to get this image to look so good. This looks like "Snappy" my lesser sulphur crested cocatoo.. I like the whole image just as you have posted it. |

Boundby gjumiComment: I don't watch many movies, so I'm not sure how this relates to the challenge by just studying the image. I see from all the comments what you were after, and it looks like you had a good idea, and got it to look the way you wanted it to look.
It's not a "big wow, artsy production studio" kind of photo, but it is the statement that you wanted to make. I'm not sure how you could do what you intended, and make a really sharp image that would nail the viewers attention.
I noticed also that this one image you have on line is getting a lot of comment action.
Keep entering photos. Who knows, maybe another challenge theme will click right for your idea, and will be a top 10. It helps to post something in the "photographers comments box" if you want to share any details, and gives some insight into the creation of the image.
Keep shooting, and keep posting. |

Redondo Pierby island_girl1Comment: This image is a fine compliment to the artist who designed this structure. The sky color and the people really pull me into it. |

calgaryWkUp_sm.jpgby iceMan71Comment: Good digital cameras do such a great job getting the blue to red wash in the sky like this just before sunrise or after sunset. Nice sharp wide shot of a very serene looking scene and sky. The trees on the right end give it just enough of the natural landscape to have contrast with the major urban part of the image. |

Patient Catby surfinbirdComment: This is a very likeable looking character, and the toning does well for the scene. I enjoy talking to people like this who have been around a while and are full of history. The cat looks very content and relaxed with him. It has a diagonal composition, which seems to work for this scene to by sweeping up to the face. |

Lake-of-fire.jpgby TimComment: A fine sunset as it is. I noticed while scrolling down, that cropping out the sky,to just the reflection in the water, just above the shore line really makes a captivating image, and even fits the title better. Brighten up just a little after the crop. Copy it first and keep the orij. file too. |

Evening Strollby CalliopeKelComment: The street light seems to overpower the rest of the image. Try cropping near square to just below the orange line, and just above the waves with the horse moving out of the image and see if it looks stronger.
The black horse really jumps out of the light sand. The blue jeans/ black jacket combo work well with the black horse too. The light shows that it's evening, but it's just out of porportion in brightness. If you need to shoot something like a house with lights, try doing a slow exposure, and have someone flick the lights on and back off one time very quickly during the exposure. That's how they get the lights without them being too bright in adv. photos. |

A Tiger's Beautyby L1Comment: A very typical feline pose and stare. It makes you wonder what they are thinking about, and how far to stay back. |
