Irisby RetroesqueComment: This is one of my fav types of flowers, the iris. This is an image that would have done very well in the recent "Shallow DOF" challenge. These are difficult to photograph well, and you have it just right with this image. |

Day 1, On the Drive to Work.jpgby IvoryComment: I like the curve of the pine fitting into the arch of the birch limb near it. Did anyone else notice that if you cover most of the upper part of the birch that the trunk looks like a hand? |

Alone.jpgby IvoryComment: You seem to be having a good time with your camera and the local wildlife lately!
This looks to be a sort of quiet place, and a very calm looking deer. Good capture with correct exposure. |

Gulf Fritillary Butterflyby JuliBocComment: Very nice capture, and good angle. You must have been lying down to shoot this. Good shutter speed, wide aperture, and fast trigger finger helped with this image. Well done Julie Boc! Thanks for posting it.
I would have been sneezing from the ragweed. |

mossy wallby ErinMComment: I like several things in this image. The textures in the wall are great, the colors with the green and yellow, then the brick and stone colors are complex, but very interesting. The perspective is very prominent as well, another thing that I like. It must have been a huge task to build this wall. |

IMG_7557original.jpgby Elvis_LComment: I could not tell in the contest entry, but I guessed correctly that this was in S Georgia as soon as the image popped up on screen. I lived in Adel for a few months. Good work on your part to see that this would make a good candidate for the "Entrance" challenge with some simple but effective tinkering. |

Beware of Dougby Elvis_LComment: Oddly enough, I really enjoy Gary Larson's humor, and I also live at 1108.
Funny idea, and technically well done.
Congrats on the "Entrance" finish. |

close-up of fence postby rozComment: I get an interesting perception of very cold, with something not quite right, because of the very alive looking green in the frosty looking background. The green seems to add to the perception of cold for some reason. Good PP to make this what it is. You were probably right about not putting it into the "Shallow" challenge. |
