DAY 26. where i live. lightning from my bedroom window.by rozComment: If you can stop down the aperture, decrease the ISO setting, and use a tripod, or put the camera on something, you can make the exposure time much longer. Then, you just keep clicking away, and sooner or later lightning will strike while the shutter is open. It's so bright that it will generally overcome any other light in the image. If you are shooting a daytime storm, all of the above plus a polarizer or ND filter will help with making exposure times longer.
I like the effect with the straight screen lines contrasting with the jagged lightning bolt. |

Day 23 George Washington Birthplaceby agrimaceComment: Nice view of an antique tool. I think you are right about the gourd containing water, as you can see how the rag would let it drool on the stone, and you can see the trails where the water ran down the frame on the left side. I wonder if this is where the infamous hatchet that did the cherry tree in was sharpened? |

Day 22by xXxscarletxXxComment: Great textures with the way the ground has been disced up showing the dark red and roughness, and the blue and white of the sky with the puffy clouds repeating the texture there. The grave site is just icing on the cake. I noticed that they put the fence on blocks to keep it from rusting where it contacts the ground. |

Day 24 The Forkby ElaineComment: Go downtown, turn left at the fork in the road. LOL.
That's great. You sneaked the invert in on me too. I didn't catch it in the thumb either. Message edited by author 2007-02-24 14:20:02. |

Day 23 - First Quarterby JimyThingComment: Good shot at the moon. It's neat that all of us can see the same moon from wherever we live. It looks best when it is part full, and the surface has shadows around the crater rims. |

Downtown Day 23by KatmystiryComment: I had to look twice at the building on the left. It looks like it snowed sideways on it LOL.
I like the kind of mix that you are talking about too. |

Day 23 - Inside looking . . . in?by Bruce_the_RobertComment: That's just too cool. I really like the spikes of light from the right, which look as if they are coming in thru the windows, and lighting up dust in the air.
You should have entered this one in the "Low Key" challenge. Very gothic looking place. |

Day22(3)by HipychikComment: Did anyone else notice that everyone has their umbrella out in case he comes close to the dock?
I like the line up of the 3 red things, and the dark earth pile behind the boat which makes it stand out better. |

Day 22(2).jpgby HipychikComment: That is a very nice looking sailing rig. It adds interest to have the people enjoying the show in the pic.
Most tall ships have websites. If you have the name of the vessel you can find it on Google. We saw one, J S Elcano last summer, under sail at sea in the Bahamas. Message edited by author 2007-02-24 00:09:12. |

Day22by HipychikComment: It looks like you had a rather hazy day for this event. You made good use of the old dock pilings to break up the horizon into almost a triptich looking image. The red bouy adds a good dash of color too. |
