Deb, great shot. I love the composition which means you not only get a range of textures on the sandbag but also that the shot has a real 3d feel to it that gives it tones of pop

Duper duotone conversion as well which is strong enough to give the image feeling but not overpowering to the extent that you lose the 'feel' of what is being photographed

Super shot and so close to another 6 average. I cant pretend to understand what the title means but I do love the fact that you have captured a range of textures from the gritty floor to the incredible smoothness of the pot in the far corner and that this is combined with a really subtle range of red/brown tones

Aw shucks Charlene it was my pleasure. I love the fact that you got two contrasting textures in this shot and the composition is great especially with the 'main' leaf running straight up a rule of thirds line. Equally I think the colours and sharpness are spot on

Fantastic photo and deserved to score higher

Well I have to say that your comments on this photo made me laugh out loud!

I love the spectral flare at the bottom of the star....very cool. I would agree with Deb though and say the brown of the door (?) in the background does detract a tad from the wonderful sharpness of the main image

Happy New Year jack....Nice job playing with what I am guessing was a Christmas present. This feels like I am falling through time to this alley (it made me think of the first terminator film)

Love the fact that even with the new lens you have still managed to keep the colours so vibrant throught the shot

Sometimes is breaks your heart to know that you are right about something and I am truely sorry that my original comment turned out to be right and that you did suffer at the hands of speed voters. Look at the difference between the average mark of those commenting and your overall average score and you will see that those who saw the hidden city truely loved this

I have put this is in the Posthumous Ribbons Of The Week I hope that is OK

A great shot

Quite a few people appear to have gone for the lone fisherman angle in this challenge, but this is a great example which helps lift it above the crowd. Beautiful composition and colouring and the 'silky' water in the foreground is a wonderful touch

Sheer brilliance

OK I have to admit to being somehwat confused by the sheer volume of eggs in this challenge, but I can say that IMO this stands head and shoulders above the other egg entries in the challenge. I love the symettry of the pins and the colour of their heads provides a wonderful contrast against the rest of the high key nature of the shot. This has the feel of a ribbon wonner about it. Good luck

Yep OK so its a staged shot, but none the worse for it. Super composition and application of the rule of thirds and wonderful colours and sharpness
