Victoria's Inner Harbourby KarenNfldComment: I should have known this was you from the title.
A great capture of a truely beautiful place. Amazing night shot and the illumination of the building in the background is stunning
As I remember there were no great postcards of Victoria, you should send this to the tourist information and tell them that this is the type of image they should use to promote the area
The fact that this came in the bottom half of the challenge says (imo) more about the voters than it does about this picture
Thanks for not only a great shot but also for reminding me of a beautiful place (and the fact that I was once misdirected and drve the wrong way down a one way street there....but thats another story) |

secret longingby AliciaComment: Woah...Stands back and applauds
On DPC we get to see a lot of flower shots and sometimes despute their beauty they get a bit samey...This on the other hand is something very different and very beautiful
I love the high key and the muted colours and the sharpness of the petal veins and the 'hairs' on the underside of the flower are amazing
What a way to celebrate you selection as photographer of the week - I bet your mum loves this one |

An Urban Faceby SandyPComment: How do you do it?
There are times when I think I take a decent portrait shot, but you consistantly manage to capture people in a way that shows not only their face, but their humanity as well
This is another glorious example of that ability. A photo that tells of a life, of good times and bad times but where the strength of spirit remains unvanquished
As ever the technical elements are wonderful, but is the fact that as a viewer one gets to see not simply a portrait but a person that astounds me
Probably my second favourite ever portrait that you have taken
Thank you for sharing - and also for the story behind the shot |
