River City in Steelby LimboComment: I was impressed with this image. Would you mind posting the original so we can see what you ended up removing from the original so we can learn what to avoid in the future? If not I totally understand.
Kudos on the great image. Sorry it ended with a DQ. |

A Glimpseby stargazer05766Comment: I don't really consider this to be a macro shot. However as my view point may differ from yours I will simply leave this comment for now and come back later to vote. |

Forty Three Small Staples On A White Plateby NordlysComment: focus seems just a little off. I'm not sure if this is a b&w conversion but I'd like the staples contrast with the plate more. The highlights especially at the tops make the staples blend in.
Really interesting and well thought out composition. |

s o r r o wby phreakComment: with such an extreme close up I would work on cleaning up stray hairs etc. You have a really nice reflection in her eye however its of you. You could exploit that and crop down even more. |

Grande Sunriseby quiapzComment: I'd say that while it fit the challenge, centered was not the way to go with this shot. Moving the horizon down would have helped. A polarizer would have helped with the lens flare which would get rid of the green spot. Make sure your lens is clean too. Oil from your fingers will create flares like that too. (I'm painfully aware that I am bad for that). Its too bad there wasn't more symetry in the hills as it does (as mentioned previously) really add to the feeling that this isn't level.
One thing to try would be a narrow vertical crop. The reflection in the water creates nice leading lines to the sun but it would be more apparent with a tighter crop. Yes, landscapes aren't usually in portrait orientation but then they are generally composed centrally either. |
