The blown out sky really pulls my eye away from the main elements in the scene. I wonder if getting closer and then shooting from a lower angle would minimize the amount of sky we see.

really crazy haloing from the post processing. This image has been pushed too much trying to make it something more. A well processed image doesn't look processed in my opinion. I would however like to see what the original looked like because there is a lot of potential in the shot.

In terms of the challenge it doesn't really say "from the ground up" in my opinion. Its really a case of using the perspective not just shooting something higher than the photographer.

hah...I had a shot like this myself...except there's a page of em. (Try searching for screen).

I like the shot though. (btw I am just commenting on this challenge and not voting). This looks like it was shot with a lens baby. I like the softness of the shot as it really supports the mood I think you were trying to capture.

Not a fan of the bevel/button appearance of the border. It distracts from what is otherwise a great image.

The processing really hurt this image. I think that it was simply pushed to much. The colors are oversaturated, its over sharpened and the vignette is distracting.

The scene itself is good and the composition works but the processing makes it look unnatural.

I'd like to see some separation between the ear and the blossom. That aside this works really well for the challenge.

This will probably suffer for being abstract but I personally enjoy this and I think that it does indeed meet the challenge with its soft subtle tones and pleasing shapes

I think the needs to be shown in color. The mass of flowers in the foreground look too uniform in monochrome to be interesting.

Really great subject for the challenge and presented well. Terrific focus on the eye and good detail captured where its needed. The soft focus on the outside of the image as well as the vignette may have been added in post but its done well without being too heavy handed.
