Thoughtfulby purpleflutterby13Comment: Nice, love the look on the cats face and the way he (she?) is almost the same color and pattern as the tree, the stong vertical on the left is a bit distracting but other than that I really like this. Good shot. |

Heading homeby MelethiaComment: What a great shot and story, I gave this an 8 during voting, I felt it was very moving and in a way sad. Yes I think the noise adds, very good capture, adding to fav's. |

Wood Carvingby krnodilComment: Personally I find it very hard to emulate true film grainyness (sp?) in digital, many years ago as a yearbook photogragher in HS we would push process Tri X (400 asa) to 1600 asa for things like football games where a strobe was useless and there wasn't enough light to stop action without it. The resulting grainy look from shorter process times had a very distintive look that and without using the effects filters (that aren't allowed in basic) I have never been able to get a good grain feel. Point is the oversharpening, although it does create some noise, is closer than anything else I've seen. For me due to focus on the lower part of the image I would say about 6 if the focus was spot on I would give it a 7 or maybe 8. hope this helps!! |

A Chain's Reactionby krnodilComment: Ha ha, see it scored well after all, just about the time I think I have the voters figured out, they throw me for a loop!! Congrats on the top ten finish, love the colors and very original idea! |

Still Here?by levyj413Comment: Cool shot, and really strange as I just last night started experimenting with this very same thing in the local park!!! I'll upload to my port. still have to practice to get it right but I think it will be cool in the end...and this should have been at least mid 5's at least. |
