Into the Nightby JudiComment: Wow, it really does look light daylight! I think this image struggles with the horizon line. It's not obeying the rule of thirds, nor is it dissecting the image in half. I think that it would have been a stronger composition if there had been more ground included and less sky, but being a star challenge, I can see why you chose to do it this way. I think voters would have forgiven you for including less of the stars. |

Act I, Scene II - Marginally Bridled Passionby smurfguyComment: Lovely shot. I might have scored it higher without the heads (I'm sure you are getting a lot of those comments) and had the subject matter not seemed like a bit of a shoehorn. Actually, I probably would have given it a 6 anyways (it's clearly better than a 5, and just doesn't stand out enough for a 7 in my mind. Would love to see some more theatre shots in future.
Actually I change my mind about the shoehorn thing. I just wasn't thinking outside the box enough. |

Stellar Alpenglowby hahn23Comment: The mountains are fantastic, the sky less so. I know you needed to keep the stars prominent for the challenge, but it's a pity the mountains are so small in the shot. Maybe a vertical crop might have worked better? Not sure. |

Bokeh Starsby robinssongComment: Is this Eric's bokeh trick from the hearts challenge? I've been meaning to try it myself, but wondering if it's going to be done to death in the bokeh challenge. Nicely done. |

Happy Holidaysby DigiFotoBuddyComment: I really love the bokeh, but I'm not sold on the star itself. The composition isn't centered, and it doesn't obey the rule of thirds, so it sits funny in my (not very creative) mind. Still a very polished image.
Also, I think the border is a bit much - there's enough red and green already ! :) |

Star Fruitby phloverComment: Lovely clarity. I'm really not sold on the composition though. 6 |

Rock Starby IvoryComment: I just have a feeling this this one will ribbon. The graininess got to me at first, but after several views I think I like it. Bumping to 7. |

Night Reflectionsby BarbBComment: I love the graininess of the sky. The brown of the water draws my eye's focus from the sky though, so I wonder if this would have been better completely B & W.
Bumping to 7. I keep coming back to it, so it must be good :) |

"Merry Christmas"by tfarrell23Comment: Such a pretty shot. Your isolation is perfect - you don't shoot stock by any chance? :) (hope that's not an insult, I don't mean it to be). |

Sunset Starby brumer0Comment: Really nice. Maybe cropped a little tight? I think this could be a ribbon contender - very DPC friendly :) |
