Sickeningly under-rated. This is amazing. Your use of lighting here is so intriguing. The way you let the face slide into shadow is unique and adds such intensity to the image. I would have instinctively tried to lighten the face and darken everything else. Brilliant work.

I was looking at your solo entry, and the other outtakes you had... This is my personal favorite. The colors are so vividly sweet, with those subtle shadows melting into the summer yellows of the flower and the orange glow on the butterfly. And... something about the quality of the detail. I guess it isn't necessarily the sharpest of images, but something about the focus maybe... is just so clear. Beautiful image!

My guess is that this got this score because few people stopped long enough to see the trick...When I first looked at it, I couldn't figure out why it got a posthoumous ribbon.But eureka when I looked closer!!! This is brilliant work, and certainly does deserve that ribbon. Just goes to show how much more careful we voters should be. :) Excellent, excellent shot. Amazing illusion.
