Eternal Guardby mickisdaddyComment: This is nice, I like the sepia but a little grain might have helped the 'antique' feel. I really love the farmhouse in the distance. The clouds are acting as leading lines bringing your eye into the statue.
The horizon is a tad crooked. |

...by -Bec-Comment: I love how her purple just pops on this shot. The golashes match the raincoat too! Excellent. The dark and gloomy feel of the surroundings match the subject perfectly. Great focus and dof. |

One-Third Up The Stairsby photom1946Comment: The materials and textures here are nice. The lines give an abstract sort of feel for me, but I don't see a subject that is in the 1/3rd position to meet this challenge criteria. I like the curve of the banister but its showing noise in the darker regions. |

I Flyby TejComment: If a fly can show expression, this one does! This is incredible shot. Love the background too. His red eyes really stand out. |

Window Viewby holdingtimeComment: Did you use a circular polarizer? There is some glare on the glass and the The only real shadows you have are inside the window. A better angle of light might have added some depth to the wood grain. |

A Third of Seattleby PhilipDyerComment: I like the color of sky and water but the city is washed out. If you had waited for the sun to go down further, you would have had fabulous City lights making the buildings stand out. I think this is what you were trying for but you caught it a little to soon. The horizon line is almost in the center. It should have been further up to be 1/3rd. Funny thing, Since the sky and water are nearly eventless, I think a centered horizon would probably work best in this case, though not the criteria for this challenge. LOL Very good attempt. Try it again if you get the chance. |

Danaus plexippusby fordmanf1Comment: Good focus, good coloring and DOF. However, the background is brighter than your subject. I do like the lighting on the butterfly. I would post process to darken the background to make the subject more attention grabbing.
It meets the criteria well and you show the plant the butterfly is resting on. Good job. |
