I wish the back wall were in focus as I think it would take a very mundane rhythm (horizontal rectangles) and add just the right splash of jazz to it (vertical shapes, repeating arches, irregular sized blocks). I do like the play of light and shadow behind the main subject.

Something is odd about this shot. I can't tell if its some processing applied to the birds, or if the scale of the birds compared to the background is what is throwing me - but the birds look as if they were pasted onto the scene. It's a very disconcerting effect. Look forward to reading your notes after the challenge.

Nice patterns in the shell, but your title is presenting this as a study of the water itself. The water is almost invisible it is so insignifigant in the shot. At the same time, the interesting patterns in the shell are not taken advantage of in any way which allows them to define the photo. I feel like there are two thoughts here, neither of which is strong enough to pull me in but either of which might do so if presented differently.

An interesting effect. Unfortunately I don't find anything here serving as a strong subject, nor is it chaotic enough to grab me as an abstract.

I don't get a real sense of rhythm from this shot, but then again I do get a sense of atonal melody. There's no well defined paattern, but there are many contrasts in shape and color which do have a (somewhat jarring) effect.

Certainly a unique/home-grown entry. Perhaps increased DoF to get them all in focus would turn it up a notch, but in the end we're talking about a bunch of clothes pins here so its an uphill battle trying to inject the ellusive 'wow'.

Chromatic Chorus

I like what you were going for here, but I think it would have worked better were the top portion equally as noise free as the bottom and also if the color had settled nicely to the bottom across the board. There's some beautiful symmetry here which these minor imperfections really tear apart.
