8 - Sidelong Glanceby BudComment: Great capture, love that expression. Also love how the face is relatively sharp while the body and background are just a bit blurred. The whole thing has a sense of movement. |

Dreby walrus451Comment: I like portraits that show people in stark detail. Is it always flattering? Maybe not. But it shows people as they are, which is something that people tend to spend a lot of effort trying to avoid. This is great. The eyes are perfect and the detail on the skin takes what could have been another 'pretty eyes' shot and turned it into a no-holds-barred study of a woman. She looks slightly tired, slightly disinterested, perhaps a touch sad - hints of so many different emotions conveyed by her face. Then the earring shining there contrasts with everything else and adds just a hint of the trappings of vanity that we all possess.
This is really, really good. |

Day 7 Yet another MEby TCGuruComment: Whoah, look who got all sexy! This is very nice. The lighting is great the way it highlights your face and then falls off to just brush across the rest of your body. nice catchlights in the eyes. I really like the classic pose as well. This reminds me of a 40's movie star headshot. |

Day 07 - Sittin' 'n' Waitin'by shalrathComment: Always look forward to your shots. This is another fine post. Beautiful clean lines, very interesting patterns, and the a guy sitting there to breathe a touch of life into a static scene. Really nice. |

Day 8: Shadows and Lightby EstimatedEyesComment: Good eye, that little splash of light is very interesting in its shape and how the light varies within it. Contrasted against the stark perfection of the stair railing it makes for a very nice scene. |

not quite rightby ordinaryangelComment: Very cool for such a simple subject. The shot conveys a strong feeling and leaves the viewer wondering what the story is behind the condition of the fixture. |

In a sea of Yellowby QuigleyComment: Tough scene, lots os similiar tones with a splash of brightness here and there. Overall I think it looks ok, but you might tinker around with channel mixer to see how you can get the different flowers to convert. |

8 - Yellow Stableby ErikVComment: I like the symmetry in this shot. Nice range of tones too, and good even lighting across the structures. |

Day 6 - By the lakeby carofoComment: Neat Image eats detail, so maybe not the best thing to use for sharpening even though it has a sharpening slider. Something to try if you have photoshop is to resize down for dpc then hit it with one or possibly two passes of smart sharpen - 0.3 radius, remove gaussian blur, about 50% strength.
This is a hell of an image. I'd already have mpix sending an 8x10 to my house were it mine. |
