Coming back to comment. I rated you in my top twenty on this image I interpreted this challenge as you did, that all things are made up of bits and pieces. You choose an object that conveys that well and I hope you do well in this challenge.

This looks like an image from one of my children's I Spy books. Great colors and a fun image to explore.

I love the arrangement of the pieces and the fact that you gave the image a well defined focal point. This should score well and is deserving of a high score.

The light trails helps this image standout from any other pool shoot I've ever seen. They really help to convey the action that occurred and the ghosting from before the break also adds to the overall appeal. Good luck.

The first time I looked at this the missing portion of the arms bothered me. After looking for a while it dawned on me that their presence would have made turned this image into an average composition. The cropped arms forces the viewer to explore the image and in the end, marvel at your incredible timing taking this shot. Worthy of a ribbon. Good luck.

I gave this image a 5. Basically, the image met the challenge and you accomplished what you intended for the image but there are issues with composition and quality. The primary issue is the picture looks out of focus. This is most likely due to your post processing steps. I not sure if Microsoft Office Picture Manager has the ability to sharpen images but most images look blurry after resizing. As for the composition, I'm not sure if shooting this in portrait would have helped any. The issue is that the dogs looking in opposite directions, which confuses the focus point for this image (do your eyes follow their stare towards the left or towards the right). I would suggest that next time you have someone hold a treat so that they both look in the same direction and also have them sit so they aren't stacked one on top of the other.

Another response from your forum post. You've already heard about the contrast issue so I thought I would add one more item as food for thought. The way you stacked the chips gives this image a lot of potential for patterns if cropped differently. As is, the image is all about symmetry, which is slightly off. If you crop tightly around the dice (About a dice width to the right and left of the end dice) and intersect the chips with the top and bottom borders of the image, the dice become the focal point of the image but the pattern from the chips add a lot of eye appeal. I often play around with cropping to see how much different looks I can get from an image.
