Blue and Yellowby brownsmComment: Nice setup & lightning. It's hard to get that "juicy" appetizing look on the fruit, and you've done a great job! My only suggestion would be to desat & blur the blue background a bit. The sharpening artifacts show up quite a bit in the deep blue. Good luck in the challenge! |

Orange Fruit Cocktailby SomeamateurComment: I like the idea & setup here. The "frosty" glass adds a nice touch. It would definitely help this image to play with the color & saturation on the fruit. As it is, the color seems washed out, and it's hard to tell if it's an orange, a lemon, or a lime. Good luck :O) |

Let's Salsaby ValdoComment: I love the setup on this. Great contrasting ingredients, and where did you find that bowl?! :O) Definitely a strong contender in this challenge. The only thing I could suggest would be to crank up the color saturation on the vegetables... that would have definitely helped to make this "pop". Good luck! |

Strawberriesby MK153Comment: I like the idea, & setup. Nice clarity & color on the strawberries. I'm not sure that the direct overhead angle helps the shot. This would be nice if you had tilted the angle a bit - I think it would have caught some of the lighting better (to add some depth) & might have showed some of the woodgrain & bowl texture a bit better. As it is, it comes across as very 2-dimensional. |

Sunkistby puckinComment: Nice image. This had a lot of potential, as the arrangement stands out from the standard still-life shots in this challenge. Unfortunately the overall brightness of the background & the highlights on the orange wedges is extremely bright. I even looked at this on multiple monitors, and with a darker profile - it still looks very washed out. Maybe try toning down the brightness, and adding a bit of selective sharpening on the slices (the peel looks very sharp compared to the slices). Again... very nice setup :O) |

5-A-Day!by wingyisleedsComment: Nice image. Looks like you went to a lot of trouble prepping for this shot :O) It is unfortunate that the eggplant fades into the background - to the point that "on first glance" it almost looks like someone took a giant bite out of the squash(?) behind it. |

Harvestby banmornComment: Of the "still Life" shots in this challenge, I thought that this one stood out as the best. I like the subtle lighting, and clarity/sharpness is spot-on. I looked at this one on multiple monitors, and with a darker profile - it loses a lot of it's "pop" (infact, they look like two completely different shots). Hopefully most voters have bright profiles! Good luck... it's a great image :O) |

Confirmationby njsabsComment: Wonderful shot. This certainly stands out in this challenge. Great lighting & overall emotive feel. Rare that a shot so small can seem larger than life. Well done. 8 :O) |
