Through the Vaseby mcrochipComment: Interesting framing but I think the foreground elements are a little too much and so dominate the image, which takes away from viewing the center element. |

Standing tallby LouisonComment: I like the overal green tinge to the shot, including the dramatic sky. The soft focus is also interesting, and I think it works here in a mythical type of way. Good shot! |

First Stepsby PoobaComment: This makes me wonder if it's part of a statue or else you got your child's first shoes bronzed, which I know a lot of people do. The lighting isnt bad, although the background can be seen near the top of the image, which is a little distracting. The full frame/crop is good too. I'm sure both this image and the boots will be a cherished memory for you! |

It's Going to be a Hot Dayby andywightmanComment: I love it when the sun is so perfectly round like this. The gradient color of the background is good with the haze at the bottom almost matching the color of the water. Nice warm tones. Placement of the sun is good too, but it just seems like it is missing something for the 'wow' - a silhouette or a boat or something. |

Sailing At Duskby MWittComment: Very nice clouds, they almost dominant the entire image. Their warm colors also contrast nicely to the rest of the 'cold' bluish image. The use of layers is good too, with the water, land, buildings, mountains. A little noisy in the mountains but a good overall shot. Very picturesque. |

Boyhoodby dhareComment: I like the tones - adds interest and a mood. The texture of the jacket comes out great, and the sharpness of the image is great with a nice blurred background. A few nitpicks would be that I would have liked to have seen the eyes a little brighter and sharper - they are so big and 'puppy-dog-like' that they are the main focus of the shot. Cropping off a little on the right would also make him/her not be in the direct center of the shot and potentially make for a better composition, otherwise a portrait orientation instead of landscape, but I do like the format, just a little extra background on the right. Nice kid shot! |

Beat The Heatby Faye PekasComment: Fun shot! I like the diagonal the line of water is making, and his expression certainly seems to capture the fun of the moment. I'm sure this will become a cherished memory for you. |

Peacock Frogby SonifoComment: The first thing I thought is 'why are the leaves on the left more in focus than the frog's body?' The eyes are nicely bright and sharp and stand out nicely. The color of the frog with the green of the plant contrast nicely also. What looks like shallow dof used has made part of the frog's body out of focus and so the in focus leaves look distracting as that's where my eyes want to go. I think if the leaves werent there then the out of focus body wouldnt bother me so much, or else the body needed to be in focus too. |

Bad Samaritansby johnmComment: Interesting photojournalistic-type shot. I like the muted colors with the emphasis on the colder tones - it sets an appropriate mood and is certainly different to the usual sepia or black and white grainy shots that are common with images like this. I also like how the people are 'faceless' so as to almost de-humanize them while focusing on the 'homeless' person. There is also a feeling of detachment to the man laying down, though - no familiarity or concern, a mere voyeuristic curiosity. |

Fortressby sherComment: The background makes me think of stormy weather - very dramatic backdrop to the barbed wire. Overall I get a feeling of turmoil and threat. The dark bluish 'cold' tones add to the mood. Great detail in the wire too. |
