I think that the harsh banded lighting is too much for the underlying image and it rathewr obliterates it

Looks as though it was shot in smoky atmosphere. Did you use a soft focus...I would have preferred harsh lighting for this subject and more exagerated B&W

Interesting... what some people have around the house. NIce & clear but the shadow on the cup / beaker is a bit too much

Ah...the old depth of field test eh...I think that in B&W the measure is lost a bit, I guess it would have been yellow on a fantastic wood grain
