Wish I Knew What You Were Thinkingby flip89Comment: Very emotive animal portrait. I particularly like the low contrast and the gradual gradations of tone from darker at the bottom, to lighter at the top. Great detail in the gorilla's coat and the connection with the eyes are captivating. It's almost as if this animal sat in a studio for you and posed. Only criticism would be the close crop at the top of the head but other than that, very well done. 9 |

Kookaburraby moodvilleComment: Terrific detail in the feathers adn the narrow DOF is excellent. The fine bokeh really helps to isolate this bird. I especially like the colors of the background. Very autumn-like colors. Exposure is outstanding and it doesn't appear that you had that much light to work with. 9 |

Early Morning Seascape by jonpinkComment: Beautiful sunset/seascape photo! The colors are excellent and I like the way they reflect in the water. Compositionally, I really like how silky smooth water (from long exposure?) leads the eye in an S-shape from rock to rock and to the sunset. The large and dark land mass at the top of the pic gives it balance and stability. Excellent work! 10 |

Bear River Marshesby dsidwellComment: What can you say when you have such wondeful light and scenic to match? The clouds really pop out and the color is outstanding (must be polarized). The deep DOF is very good as well, but would have been really brought out had there been some kind of subject matter to focus on, such as, a boat in the water, or fowl floating along. Still, a wonderful photograph. 9 |

Shadowboxerby scalvertComment: I"m going to guess that this was done with a filter/mask. I think the composition is really excellent. The way the arms of both the real person and the mask go flying off in different directions and the beads of sweat of the shadow-mask really give the image a sense of hitting someone hard and sending them flying. Along with the way the subject's body is turned and way the shadow-mask is leaning really give the image a lot of energy. On the whole, I think the choise of harsh lighting was very good, but think there could be slightly more fill light on the face of your subject. Good choice of B&W and low contrast tones. This image was well thought out and masterfully executed. Bravo! 10 |

Vickiby KonadorComment: I really like the soft tones and narrow DOF. Gives her a dreamy appearance. The eyes, with just a bit of coloring are quite captivating. I also like the flow of movement of how my eyes are led...up the neck to the earing and over to the eyes, and then down her hair. I don't mind that the top of head was cut off. Nice intimate portrait. 8 |

Lights Out by terjeComment: Great stop motion image that has wonderful duotones and interesting composition. The low-key really makes the subject stand out and this image has great impact. Very well done. |

Territorial Posturingby hopperComment: Beautiful and graceful subject that was captured very well with excellent detail. DOF is good too, but I don't see this image as having been a challenge to stop the motion. |

Golf Swing Aftermathby dhareComment: I like the stopped motion of the tee and blades of grass up in the air, but find the shot overall to be too dark (at least on my monitor) and the compositioni appears odd in that there is just one leg showing. |

Condor 23. Still here . . .by KaDiComment: The muted tones of the background are wonderful but your subject fills such a small portion of the frame, and is so poorly lit that it is hard to see and detracts from the overall impact of this image, which has a lot of potential. If you could have zoomed in more, and shot the image at a time of the day that would have assured better lighting it would have improved the results. |
