Fallby ursulaComment: Love the late day(?) lighting and the play of shadow/light here. Clouds and high contrast really give this picture a dramatic feel. Also a good feeling of balacnce of all it's elements. Very painterly and beautiful. 9 |

Granite Totemsby rcrawfordComment: Colors are nicely saturated and good detail captured in the rock. Love the creamy smoothness in the sky. I just find the subject matter to be somewhat lacking. Maybe if a person or animal was included somewhere in the shot I would find it more interesting. 6 |

A Study in Colorby HRoxasComment: Very nice lighting to bring out the nicely (but not overly) saturated colors. Great detail in the skin of the pepper as you can almost see the striations. Very sharp photo! 8 |

Warmthby joannsComment: Lighting is good and I like the interplay of shadow/light here. Good catchlight in the eyes and she certainly is a pretty young lady! Skin tones are exceptionally good. I also like the snapshot appearance with the heavy whilte border and the slimmer grey border gives it a touch of class. Though she appears posed, it's does not look unnatural. Job well done! 7 |

Summer Daysby dan_pendletonComment: A couple of things I think you really did very well here is the exposure is excellent with the backlighting. Don't know if you used fill lighting or some kind of reflection, but the girl's faces are clearly visible and not dark at all. Secondly, I like the way the dark bushes frame the photo and give the scene a kind of private look so that the view here is almost as if we're spying on the girl's private moment of prancing and playing about. What makes this picture for me is the way the light shines through the dress of the girl nearest to the cam. The grass seems oddly too yellowish/green, but still not a big deal and like the effect of it's bright luminance. I think the scene lacks is some other main element, such as a fountain or gazebo to unite the girls in some kind of activity, because as it is now, they are to disconnected. 7 |

Paris, Las Vegasby Pep VentosaComment: I like the leading lines and angling of this image as it takes your eyes from the lower right to the upper left. Not sure why you chose B&W for this image, though, as there is not enough tonal variation in this high contrast image to be truly interesting. I think the color of the lighting would have made for more interesting contrasts. Also, the tree at the right adds nothing and I find it detracts. I think you should have cloned it out. 6 |

Come Closerby jab119Comment: Great detail in the gator and I really like color and blur of the water. You can just about feel the glide and stealth of this gator as it swims. You've also captured very well the formidible look of the creature and wonder what prey it has it's eyes on. Cropping is a bit close on the snout but doesn't detract all that much Very well done. 9 |

hole 12, par 4by willemComment: I really like the IR tones. Along with the deep DOF and very wide angle view, as well as, the miniscule appearance of the person and golf bag(?) the impact of this photo lies in how it conveys the immensity and scale of the space it presents. It does this in both the verticle and horizontal dimensions. Very well done. 8 |

The Blue Windowby aKiwiComment: Very nice rich and vibrant complementary colors, not too saturated and very clean looking. I also like the uncluttered appearance of this photo and glad you did not include a border. I do however, wish you cloned out the two hooks below the window, as they are slightly distracting. The sundial gives an interesting foil juxtaposed with the window. 8 |

Munising Fallsby pitsamanComment: Wonderful capture of the falls and the details in the rock. Color is very vibrant and this image has great clarity and pop. The centering of the falls is not that big of a deal and does not detract from this beautiful wide angled view. 8 |
