DWT_8286.jpgby dwterryComment: Originally posted by dwterry: This was shot using the 70-200mm lens fully zoomed (200mm) @ f/2.8 and up fairly close (the closer you are, the shallower the DOF), in this case at least 4 feet as that's the minimum focus distance for that lens. |
thanks for the answer. You really need to master the DOF of your lens to be able to do that on the fly...! |

DWT_8286.jpgby dwterryComment: very nice composition and use of DOF. What lens / setting did you use? Message edited by author 2008-03-21 06:31:20. |

the saplingby yankoComment: like I said. Amazing. Perfect. Don't change anything. the picture is worth more than its score. This is a typical exemple where you should look at the quality beyond the DPC score which has its limitations. |

Outside Inby noranekoComment: comment related to your "pointers to what doesn't work" question. First, with a 6.94 score, I wouldn't say it has not worked. My take is that it lacks the high contrast tack sharp details that seem to work better on average here (too "dirty"). But at this stage, I would not change anything, unless your only goal is to collect ribbons. Because this photo is at least worth the ones that ribboned - if not better. - as it is. (for one it is perfectly sharp, imho, where it needs to be, no more). Message edited by author 2008-03-06 12:31:49. |
