18.52 Couple and columnsby MelethiaComment: Yeah, and it's too busy and I don't know what I'm supposed to be looking at and it doesn't fit the challenge and where's the instruction manual and why do they always write those things in languages I don't understand?
Oh.
It's tricky. A higher contrast would be typically 'right' for the photograph as an abstraction, but the couple that are hogging the discourse are (quint?)essentially quiet and calm, something with which jazzed up contrast would clash.
It's a lovely picture, you're on a calm and quiet roll with these.

Blacking outby CorySmithComment: Market this. Superb response to the challenge. As ever, well singled out by the dead man. |

Sunday Brunchby JuliBocComment: Poetic mother and child (re)union. Beautifully captured, beautifully presented. I have close to no idea why anything above this scores higher, except maybe for the odd bit of dynamics. Oh, and it's a lottery.
Oh, twelfth, damn straight - deserves it, too. Well done, Julianne. |

Hello? Hello?by SteveJComment: Terrific juxtaposition - probably flew right by the dp challenge, but worrafug, eh? I don't think there's anything wrong with this at all - could probably use a little rotation, but preferably not at the expense of important details around the edge.
Nice one. |

Contemplationby canigirlComment: It's a personal best! Welcome to the club.
And you're supposed to be young and green and ammacher...
This is a terrific capture of mood and moment - blown out schmown out - you hit the challenge right between the eyes.
Keep on! |

miss connectedby posthumousComment: Just in case you get the feeling not every picture tells a story, this one has a little collection to make up on the shortfall.
Beautiful pose, beautiful moment - and excellent composition to bring it all together.
Give yourself a Posthumous green ribbon for this. |

Focusby purpleflutterby13Comment: Good title - is this the hungover juggling league, by any chance?
Maybe misses out because it's as much portrait as it is candid - didn't hurt the winner though. Did you try b&w?
Good to see you back. Flame on! |

. . .W A I T I N G. . .by snafflesComment: Gaaaahh! Somebody get me out of here! The pictures are climbing off the walls! Gaaaahh!
Didn't you read the bit in the handbook where it says that candids are supposed to be sombre meditations on - er - sombre meditations?
Just another promising candidate standing in the wrong line.
Shame. Great shot. |
