Building and Treeby bvyComment: I love the look you've achieved with the very muted colours. With such a complex tree, I think the blown out sky actually works here; a bunch of clouds would have probably made the image too busy up top. Nice image. |

St. Paul'sby bvyComment: Brian,
Great lighting, mood, and camera angle! Excellent job capturing everything in focus, and very ingenious of you to utilize all you have available (the neck strap) to get the angle you wanted. Nice job. |

Tiltedby IznastYComment: It's a bit of a portrait faux pas to cut off part of the foot, but I love the angle and muted colours. Nice job. |

Leviathanby shutterpuppyComment: I'm curious about your title here. I tried to relate the image to Hobbes' work, but couldn't make the connection. I'd really like to hear your take on it. |

tn-Penn State 02-15-08-5458.jpgby fixedintimeComment: You've done an amazing job here. I love how the snow of the top image simply blends into and "becomes" the sky of the bottom image, as well as how the posts seem to hold up the statue of the cat. Flawless planning here. Nicely done. |

Mandalayby GermaineComment: Hi Germaine,
I hope my post (in the blending modes thread) helps you understand the difference blending mode a bit better. You've done a great job with this image, and I think the texture you chose to blend on top of the sunset is perfect.
Thanks for going into so much detail. It's nice to read not only how an artist achieved the look they were trying to convey, but why they did so.
Edit: sunset, not subset. Message edited by author 2008-03-04 00:14:17. |
