I like the shot.. maybe the focus is indeed slightly soft.. Most people sharpen to the point of being a fault because that's what the general voters want..

I think the framing of the sun the jet trail is very very good.. Perhaps more negative space at the bottom half would have made the whole composition less confined looking..

Abstract doesn't do very well if competing against people shots or landscapes.. most people like pics that they can connect to..

And No it's not too blue..

well.. honsetly speaking.. I like this more then your entry (which is definitely the more ppl friendly shot because of its clean lines and strong composition)..

ooh. nice and clear shot.. I like the whole composition of it from the photojournalistic pov but.. if you want to go more artsy then cropping the pic and going overexposed might be the look to try for..
