A foggy morning greeted us when we woke up and I thought it might make for a good shot for this challenge with the sun burning through the fog. When we got out onto the road we noticed we were a bit too late as the fog was already burning off quite quickly. The valley still had some fog in it and the sun was now rising through the clouds nicely so I took this shot. I like it but wish there was a bit more flog in the valley. I also wish I'd used a smaller aperture.

Post Challenge:
DPC has turned into a crazy place for me - 2 yellow ribbons in one week. I would never have put money on that happening.

Like, JuZi said in his comment, this one was about being in the right place at the right time. I have my 12 month old boy to thank for this as it was him that woke me up early on the Saturday so I saw the fog and we were able to head out to take a few shots. So this one is dedicated to Conor - there are pics of Conor in my 'Home & Family' portfolio if you are interested :)

Kudos on being in the right place at the right time.

Hi Nuzzer,

Love the compostion, two leeding lines work wonderful the bush & the grass very nice touch. Like the placement of the tree clearly giving scale to the entire image. Don't think you got up to late either, the fog is just right thick enough to see clearly yet thin enough to peer through very well done. The only thing here that needs addressing is he hot spot (sun) polerizing filter may have toned down the glare & given you a deeper blue sky. With that being said, this is a wonderful image. Great framing, nice colors, & a stunning visual effect, A truly stunning image....Great job.

i love this photo
absolutely love it
it reminds me of a fairy tale land.
the colors, the landscape, and the angle
and by the way, i don't think the fog is too far gone in this picture
that may have been the angle at which you were aiming for
but the burning color of the sunrise versus the warm green of the grass is very captivating!
i truly love it.

Awesome photograph. Even though the challenge calls for it, that hot spot is a bit distracting. Even so, this has got to be a ribbon winner! Great Job!
