Days Gone Byby jasonlpriceComment: I think this is my favourite of the challenge. The intimate view of ordinary life is exotic. Nice work. |

Septemberby bbrightComment: The colours and clarity are lovely. The coastline is a natural setting for impressionist work. I think your photo does the job. 7. |

Still Life with Peachesby MAKComment: I like the slightly shriveled peaches. The added texture enhances the story. Being a still life, one becomes critical of composition and placings of objects. But for me, it works well and looks "genuine." Perhaps the white cloth is an oddity. I'm not sure. The background looks nice. Is this realist still life in a Dutch sort of way or impressionism. That question does not really concern me. I think it is as good an impression as any photo in this challenge and better for not using some sort of gauche software filter to mimic pointillism or brush strokes. 7. |

Gumdrops Keep Falling On My Headby CNovackComment: My 2 cents not worth anything at the rate the USD exchanges on the world currency markets these days: The polka dot pattern of the umbrella distracts a little and camouflages the "drops." Perhaps a simple coloured umbrella might have been better? The metaphor is a bit off kilter in that nothing falls on ones head if an umbrella is deployed. If the umbrella was held off to one side thereby allowing the drops to fall on the head, then that might have been better. Fiction or nonfiction a certain realism is necessitated. I think the cropping is a bit tight - but then again.... and the background might have been better as an out of focus street with a vanishing point... but that relates to composition and I am stepping out of bounds by making any comments on that... |

Coming Inby ColeyComment: I came back to see... Nice view. I bet it looks nice in a b/w rendition with the slightest bit of blue tone (or something). |
