You remind me that fish are symbolic in some way. Vulnerable. A Christian symbol. Associated with water. A fish out of water, and visual proverbs. Your photo teaches me to see the symbolic and consider that carefully and what it might mean when composing or showing a photo.

A small hint, a tiny peek. "A keyhole view" is what you remind me about with your photo. It is a useful way to compose a picture and I am learning from it.

Juxtaposition is not only a nice word to say but an interesting element in photos, so I am reminded by you. "The hole in the curtain" - I tend to remember composition types by little phrases like that. I will remember this one. It is effective.

You teach me to seduce the viewer into a story, a dark night in...., and the sound of a car in the distance. On The Road. Passing by Edward Hopper's cafe. Dark colourless acrylic paints... hints hints hints. I find inspiration from this lovely image.

You remind me that the graphic elements in life are often useful backgrounds and that a small amount of movement in an otherwise static composition brings an image to life. I learn. So many things to learn...

The small view, the personal perspective on the world, a shared intimacy, and a little vulnerability is what you teach me here. Do not be afraid to share that type of view or make collections of them. They comprise our world, after all.

Road to Ruin

You remind me that tranquility allows the viewer into the frame for a gentle amble. Gentle visual seduction that one can return to. I learn that the natural view - something which has good associations for me - is one that sometimes does not need much in the way of processing help to work. (I see a few bands of posterization in the sky which might have come about by levels adjustment or by noise reduction).

I learn that there are ways of making an image with certain associations iconic in nature by the way one processes or develops it. The divine light, the vanishing perspective, the metaphor of dark clouds all add meaning and I will have to learn how to use those effects in my own work.
