The "floating branch" is do-able for balance & framing, but overall IMHO the photo would have been helped by reframing that element out of the photo. Suggestion: Stand two feet to the left. :)

Nice still life. Nice idea...Sounds like one of my own, and sadly it will score just about as well because its out there on the edge of DMNC. I wish you all the best! because people like us tend to over-think our compositions. You obviously gave this much thought. Consider doing what I have begun to do, "bounce your ideas off" a respected friend or relative who has shown consistent art appreciation. My wife has helped me on numerous occasions. (I hope this is helpful.)

Nice starburst effect created by the sun through the branches! :) The gazebo reminds me of Epworth-By-The-Sea, St.Simons Island, GA because there is a river in about the same position there, too. :)
