This is very beautiful. I love the almost silk-like appearance of the fire. Great idea and superb execution. It almost feels like the disc is being passed through by a 'bolt' of flame. Good job.

Wow, I can imagine your brother and father's concern. Great image though, that cloud at top left really adds a lot. It's upward-sweeping shape adds a lightness and lift that wouldn't be there with a clear sky.

there's something i really like about this.the focus isn't very crisp and the coloration in the background near the subject gives what you've photographed a sort of fuzzy nebulosity, if that's a word.

I love how the colors are arranged in this. Reminds me of an almost rock-papper-scissors succession. The green of the first leaf becomes the background for the second panel. The yellow of that the background for the third, and the red of the third the background for the first. Pulls me right into the picture, directing my eyes left to right and back to the beginning again. That having been said, I think the thickness of the borders is a bit of an obstruction - something slightly thinner and maybe lighter might make this more powerful. Someone suggested a dark brown.
