Love the trails they've left leading up the leaf. Good shallow dof, but I still feel like this could use a touch of usm, and maybe a tweak in contrast.

Nice idea and a great landscape for this. The glasses are just a bit lost in the darkness though, but I'm not sure how to fix that.

Good details in the petals and centers, and I like that they're not the exact same colors. Seems a bit overprocessed though since they feel like they're floating above the black, or cut out of the background, and you've lost some of the petal tips to the blown out yellows.

Good setup to show them at almost the same size in the frame. I think if there was no writing on the other sides of the miniature, I would have showed that instead to keep it more similar. Nicely done.

Oh, this is lovely! Just a small bit in focus and the warm colors all melt together with some interesting lines going through the shot. Wonderfully done... especially for a late night shot! :)

Good question. I was trying some brush shots and I focused on the tips, but didn't like my results. I think the middle focus works ok here since there is another area to focus on with the band of white right in the focused area. What is this brush for, anyway?

day 8 - glasses and Bible

Nothing wrong with a setup, especially when we're dealing with ordinary objects here. That's part of the challenge! Perhaps sitting the glasses up (on the top of the lens and the arms) would help you change the angle so that you can get the correct text focused in the lens area, while keeping the other text blurred? Just an idea :) I think it's a nice setup and composition.

Would have taken me a while to figure out this object since it's from a different angle than I'm used to seeing them. Nice contrast with the black... and the other folks are right.. it almost looks like floating glass!
