Good setup to show them at almost the same size in the frame. I think if there was no writing on the other sides of the miniature, I would have showed that instead to keep it more similar. Nicely done.

Oh, this is lovely! Just a small bit in focus and the warm colors all melt together with some interesting lines going through the shot. Wonderfully done... especially for a late night shot! :)

Good question. I was trying some brush shots and I focused on the tips, but didn't like my results. I think the middle focus works ok here since there is another area to focus on with the band of white right in the focused area. What is this brush for, anyway?

day 8 - glasses and Bible

Nothing wrong with a setup, especially when we're dealing with ordinary objects here. That's part of the challenge! Perhaps sitting the glasses up (on the top of the lens and the arms) would help you change the angle so that you can get the correct text focused in the lens area, while keeping the other text blurred? Just an idea :) I think it's a nice setup and composition.

Would have taken me a while to figure out this object since it's from a different angle than I'm used to seeing them. Nice contrast with the black... and the other folks are right.. it almost looks like floating glass!

I like the idea behind this one with the fresh leaf on the dark ground, and how the leaf still looks so healthy. As I look around the shot though, something feels odd about it. I think it's the shadows on the leaf caused by the stem and veins, which would seem to indicate a bright sunny day, yet the overall tone of the colors feels cloudy and muted. Maybe I just read too much into things though :)
