macro8.jpgby icu1965Comment: I like the composition here with the diagonal lines and the shallow dof. It looks as though the white balance here wasn't adjusted quite right (or perhaps on auto) which gave everything a yellow overtone. Playing with the color balances might bring out a wider range of colors within the pastels themselves. |

Welded on - Day 10by slaaksoComment: Round, square, swirly, rusted, shiny, rough, smooth... so many contradicting aspects to this shot. Very nice! |

Blissby TejComment: Love the foreground bokeh to give this a dreamy look and the warm orange colors. |

Rebelby TejComment: As Haneck mentioned, the biggest problem for me with this shot is the coloring you've chosen. I think this color scheme is difficult to pull off with a shot of people. A true b/w or a duotone with a warmer color would have worked better for me. Besides that, it's a nice shot, but doesn't evoke an emotion, make me wonder about the people or tell a story. The men appear to have no interaction, and there isn't any particular emotion shown. By flipping through a few of your other shots from this trip, I think there are several others that might have been a better choice, especially considering this was a free study and you didn't need to worry about DNMC comments. Hope that helps some. |

Vortexby GermaineComment: Love the sense of movement here... looks like water swirling down a drain. Wonderful colors! |

MarchMacro_day10.jpgby hyperfocalComment: Amazing details in such a small space. The only thing that bugs me is that dead leaf tip to the left, but cropping it off would make the composition weaker. But, it's a part of nature so I'll just have to accept it! :) |

mike.jpgby MAKComment: I agree that it feels a bit busy with all the light spots and lines, and that seems to take away from the main subject. But I like that you put the mike in some kind of context with the background. Perhaps a shallower dof to blur the bdg a bit more without losing the feel of the shot? |

Day 10: Paper thin?by johst582Comment: Amazing! These really don't look like they could possibly be regular pages! I wonder if fanning some of them so we could see some of the ink on the pages would help give a sense of scale? Perhaps showing a page number or letter? |
