1 Samuel 2:7by xtabintunComment: Looks like a photo better suited to a Crossroads or "Which way should I turn" type challenge.
Not quite a strong enough representation of poverty. |

The Invisible Manby TallblokeComment: I've realized that, for me, a good poverty shot makes me shutter, cringe or want to look away.
You got it all, incredibly sad and very strong representation of the challenge. |

All I haveby trainComment: I think you have 2 ideas here that could have either one been better as a solo representation of poverty. (The rice or the paint-pealed doorstep.)
Together it just doesn't work (IMO) It's out of context, I thought "why is that person holding a hand full of rice in front of a porch step" |

Busted Soleby BigMoComment: I like the beat up old shoe as a representation of poverty.
Although I think your shot is just a little too dark and could use a little less of a soft focus to make what it actually is "pop". |

Needs.. warm clothing... for winter...by NitinComment: Nice tattered looking shot.
As I've been judging these I've come to realize (at least for me) Good poverty shots make me feel kind of icky.
Hat's off to an icky shot - Strong representation of the challenge. |

Got Change?by HBunchComment: The big bowl is too over powering and dominates the photo. Which is a shame because the little boy has such sad eyes. |

Po Peoples Houseby pumaComment: Finally a shot that actually shows poverty.
I love the crumbling - falling down stairway on the side of the house.
It may have had an interesting appeal if you had shot it with that as more of the focus.
Leveling and cropping more of the top of the photo would be an improvement.
Over all - good interpretation of the challenge |

"BB's Place"by ISivicComment: If I thought someone as living there I could relate to it better as poverty.
Still a good shot - Love the rust on the trailer |
