oh, that's whyby phlickComment: i like the expression it is wonderful, but im afraid with the image quality you are going to lose a lot of points, it is just so hazy and grainy with the light part being almost a solid color. |

Baby Lukaby jessy_pesceComment: I've seen that dress before a few times lol! (I was a preschool photographer) Anyhow. Cute photo, I love the wonder and the captured childhood moment. Wish I could see more of her face because she looks like she'd be adorable, esp with all those little ringlet curles! |

Austinby karenkComment: His face seems a bit overprocessed to me, the eyes look way too bright to be natural. I like the serious expression and the choice of bw, though it could use a bit more contrast. |

Dancerby AnnComment: I want to see her dance! This is a pretty portrait and you have certainly captures some of her personality but as an environmental portrait (or at least that's what I think it to be with the setting and the title) I'd like to see her dancing, or at least interacting more with her surroundings. |

Laurenby QueenCComment: Pretty model, I love freckles and the natural feel. This image just really seems like a pretty candid, like at-home amatuer photos as opposed to a portrait. I think that has a lot to do with the background and the very flat lighting. |

Life's Pleasuresby lovethelightComment: This one stood out on the thumbnails as feeling very fresh and natural. I still get that feel now that I see it better but for me her face is over-edited, I'd much prefer it more natural to go with the whole feel of the photograph. Her expression is a bit awkward around the mouth but the eyes seems happy and the way her hair is falling with the background, beautiful. |

The Bird Vendorby namastedcComment: Wish the focus was actually on the bird vendor as opposed to the cages for the sake of this being a portrait challenge... actual just in general for that matter. The cages aren't very engaging as the bars are too close together to really see much. |

Portrait of an Artistby Prof_FateComment: cute natural candid photo. The crop along with her hunched position seems a bit odd. Might like to see this type of shot without her looking, just drawing and doing her thing. |

American Beautyby albc28Comment: Oh boy. These kind of shots really do nothing for me. It seems just there for the sake of attention as opposed to saying something about the model. So trying to put aside my bias, some places that could have been inproved... lighting. It seems brightest on her stomach and even blown out on her arm. I'd like to see more light and attention on her face. The pose is really unnatural. There are better ways to do implied nudity, like perhaps laying on her stomach. The lipstick print seems completely unnecessary unless this is some sort of commentary on lesbianism, in which case the person who put it there should be in the photo as well. If it's a tattoo... well then I would have cloned it out. |
