impact zoneby rozComment: Good approach to the challenge, with great colors juxtaposed here to good effect. The sea green is delightful, and the exposure speed works well with the subject. Absent the challenge theme, there's not necessarily a lot to see here, but it meets its objective well enough for these purposes. |

hiding in plane viewby skewsmeComment: I like the tones in this a lot, especially in the field, which looks almost painted (I can almost see brush strokes!!); the silvery-ness (yes, a made up word) works well for me, and the composition is strong as well. Interesting and unique in the challenge. Nicely done. |

Afternoon Walkaboutby NaldComment: Interesting choice for the challenge, with nice lines and light tones throughout. Seems like a great place to go walkabout, with things to see everywhere you look. I might have liked to have seen a bit more contrast here, and perhaps some taming of the highlights, but it seems to me to reflect well what I might feel if I was there (ie, bright sun that I wish I could tame). Nicely shot. |

Broken Dreamsby Alley CatComment: Great choice of subject, nicely meeting the challenge but not making all the choices based on Waldo. I might have preferred the house a bit less centered, but depending on the shot (ie, what's left or right of the house) that may or may not have worked. The subdued tones throughout this are delightful, and the overall feel is one of abandonment and loss, which is quite strong throughout the image. Nicely done. |

Watching the Watersby JedusiComment: Very gentle, subtle image. I waffle between finding the softness appropriate given the lighting and shades to wanting just a bit more sharpness to all that white (in the building, the sails). I like the squarish crop, and the choice of subject is excellent. |

Atlas and Persephoneby CutterComment: Excellent composition here, and good choice to have "Waldo" as an extra and not the focus of the image. The use of the church spires to complement the composition of Atlas works well, though having Atlas completely in silhouette is a bit distracting for me (I generally don't care for full silhouettes -- my own personal preference). I still think this is a strong image, made stronger by excellent choices in composition. Well done. |

Botanical Gardenby rkligmanComment: Interesting lighting and colors on the building at the end of the water, with nice reflections and colors in that section, as well. The sky distracts me a bit, given its lightness in relation to the darkness of the rest of the scene. On the whole the lighting hides Waldo, but might have been more attractive with more attention paid to the darker areas. Composition works well, though, and I do find the overall coloring appealing. |

Chilling in Amsterdamby PanoComment: There are pieces of this that really appeal to me, like the roof line juxtaposed against such a blue sky. Losing Waldo through soft focus doesn't work as well for me, though, and the shades don't improve that. The ripples on the water are also a bit distracting in the way they reflect the building colors -- couldn't you have stopped the wind blowing? :) I generally do like the shot, though, and composition fits with the purpose of the shot. |

Imposterby ElliottjmsComment: Great take on the challenge, with an interesting (to put it mildly) image, from the images on the wall, to the person at the desk, to the imposters. Lighting is a bit flat -- probably explained by the indoor location -- but composition works well. A solid entry. |

Legend of the Fallsby hahn23Comment: Great choice of locations, with lots of stuff going on visually. The slowish shutter speed gives some motion (flow?) to the water, which is appealing. I wonder if a bit more contrast might strengthen this a bit; as is it seems a bit flat to my eye, though this perhaps helps in hiding Waldo by blending the shades together. |
