Post Challenge
Thankls for all the kind words and votes. I nearly got out of bed and pulled it from the challenge on the closing night as it I couldn't get it how I wanted it. I had done all the work on a new laptop with an uncalibrated screen (duh) and it was only when I went to load it from my other PC that I found I had lost much of the contrast and colour - but it was too late at night to start again.
So in the end I'm glad that lovely wife of mine persuaded me to leave it alone and let it run. Clever things wives : )

Steve,
Congratulations on placing in the top 20. (should of been Higher!)..
The wind must of really been blowing judging by the sails yet the water appears calm ... Use to sail quite a bit in the past off of Cape Hatteras not in a boat mind u wind surfing..Umm Hmm just a board w a sail out in the ocean all the time thinking a shark is going to come up and attack the board.. Anyhow this reminded me of Hatteras..
Can see Waldo watching the water..

Wives are amazing aren't they? Sometimes u just need some one to say it's fine..

It is fine..

The water is kind of to hot, pulls the eye off the subject, The light house is place well to the left of the picture dividing the picture in to thirds. Nice lay out of your composition. Looks like the camera focused on the water in front leaving the background a little soft

I love the tones, and shades of color in the sky, and the silvery sheen of the water. Beautiful!

On the far right as a silhouette in front of a sailboat.

Very nice picture, I just wish you had had better luck with the sky.

Very gentle, subtle image. I waffle between finding the softness appropriate given the lighting and shades to wanting just a bit more sharpness to all that white (in the building, the sails). I like the squarish crop, and the choice of subject is excellent.

What a pretty scene. I like your composition. Its too bad that the highlights on the water are blown out and the focus is a bit off.

Super, a hidden Waldo which is in full view, a charming shot which stands well either in or out of this competition

The little strip of water at the bottom is a touch distracting, but otherwise, this is a beautiful shot.

Obviously more than one person in the photo if the sailing boats are sailing - but they're well-hidden on the boats. Nice picture.

Nice pix but, sliver of shadow does not equal Waldo.

Really like this shot, love how there are many things in your shot to distract you from finding waldo. When you really look though he was not bad to find because of the water and that helps the image even more. Great composition. Only suggestion would be a bit of a saturation boost and a slight more contrast. Nice work.

great shot, love the quietness of the lighthouse within the stormy mood. well composed, good placement of Waldo. Had cloned out the bird, though.
