Artificialby TranquilComment: A nice attempt to break with the convention of tree branches, and as a nature shot it's very effective. But the wire has been lost by a combination of the strong light which has bled it away, the narrow focus which doesn't pick out any point of the wire, and the action of the birds which completely dominate the composition and rob the attention of the viewer from the branch theme. If they were all settled in a uniform line with the shallow DOF picking out something more subtle like a brid with it's head turned, or under it's wing preening it would have been much closer to the challenge. |

a thick one.by AlbertmdhComment: If you had moved around and ignored trying to use perspective to demonstrate the 'thick' effect, and used the contrasting thin vertical lines of the tree trunks in the background with the thick horizontal line of the branch in the foreground this theme would have worked. |

An old treeby jmleliiComment: Good contrast making a strong form, and good composition. The focus loses the potential of the texture however. |

branch and berriesby U622Comment: I like the strong forms of the berries, and use of shape and line in the leaves and twig, but could have moved out to relax the composition more and make it a little about the berries and let them become simply an interseting decoration on the branch. |

Pineby charmayneComment: I like the subtle colours, however the slash of light on the left disrupts the even effect. Should have gone for one or the other, shadow or sunlight. |

Bursting Outby dphillipsComment: Not sure which element in the shot or post-processing has caused this but there's an annoying halo effect very evident. Could be a combination of the strong light from the flash and over zealous sharpening later on maybe. The untidy crop on the top is poor too. |

Webbed Branchby smaria0Comment: I like this one, subtle use of line, but could be more focused I think. |

Paper Kite Butterflyby beckettbootsComment: If the wings were to be the main subject then a tighter crop would have eliminated this confusion. As it is, the butterfly and the leafy brach it's resting on are fighting too much for attention. |
